Get to meet Les

The landscape is scattered with weathered cars, buses, and an array of machinery, including a military tank, all part of Les Boshoff’s vast collection of vehicles and props available for rental to film companies. Upon entering his property, you will be greeted by towering boxes filled with various parts, some nearly a story high. These components are mainly used for converting vehicles from right-hand to left-hand drive for film sets, often on short notice. While it may appear that Les, with his extensive movie car rentals, is merely a businessman, don’t be deceived—his love for cars runs deep and is unquenchable. At an impressive age, Les shows no signs of slowing down; his collection boasts a couple of Ferraris and a Lamborghini.

“Over the years, what started as a hobby-now a passion-has increasingly occupied my daily life, evolving into a lucrative side business that keeps things exciting,” he says. “I’ve spent decades searching for and pursuing these vehicles across South Africa, and there are still hidden treasures in the graveyard that I intend to restore, including a DeSoto Airflow.” (edited)
